Illumifacial by Lynton

Discover the Lynton illumiFacial®: Your Journey to Brighter, Clearer-Looking Skin
If your skin is looking dull, uneven or in need of a fresh start, the Lynton illumiFacial® could be the perfect treatment for you.
Available at Ultra‑Tek in Liverpool city centre, this advanced four-stage photofacial combines professional skincare with Intense Pulsed Light technology to help improve the appearance, tone and texture of your skin.
What Is the Lynton illumiFacial®?
The illumiFacial® is a non-invasive skin treatment developed by Lynton, a leading British manufacturer of laser and IPL technology.
Unlike a traditional facial that focuses mainly on the surface of the skin, the illumiFacial® combines a specialist fruit-acid peel with carefully controlled IPL energy. This allows the treatment to target a variety of common skin concerns while supporting a brighter, fresher and more even-looking complexion.
It may be recommended for concerns including:
Dull or tired-looking skin
Uneven skin tone and texture
Sun damage
Freckles and areas of pigmentation
Facial redness
Visible small blood vessels
Congested or blemish-prone skin
Early signs of skin ageing
Every client’s skin is different, so a consultation is required to determine whether the treatment is suitable for you.
The Four Stages of an illumiFacial®
The illumiFacial® follows a carefully designed four-stage process.
1. Cleanse
The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove make-up, oils and impurities. This prepares the face for the next stages and allows the treatment products and IPL energy to be delivered effectively.
2. Specialist Fruit-Acid Peel
A specially formulated peel is applied to help remove dead skin cells and improve the appearance of congested skin. This stage creates a smoother, clearer surface and prepares the skin for the IPL treatment.
You may experience a mild tingling sensation while the peel is on the skin, but the treatment is designed to remain comfortable.
3. Lynton IPL Treatment
The skin is then treated with Lynton Intense Pulsed Light technology. The settings are selected according to your skin type and individual concerns.
IPL delivers controlled pulses of light into the skin. Depending on your personalised treatment plan, this may help reduce the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, redness and visible vessels while encouraging a brighter and more even-looking complexion.
4. Hydrate and Protect
The facial is completed with professional skincare products to soothe, hydrate and protect the skin. Sun protection is also applied, as the skin may be more sensitive to ultraviolet exposure following treatment.
What Are the Benefits?
The Lynton illumiFacial® has been designed to give the skin a clearer, smoother and more radiant appearance.
Depending on your skin and the concerns being treated, potential benefits may include:
A brighter and fresher complexion
Improved appearance of uneven pigmentation
Reduced appearance of redness
Smoother-looking skin texture
A more even skin tone
Improved appearance of blemish-prone or congested skin
A healthy-looking glow
Some clients may notice an improvement after one appointment, while a course of treatments may be recommended for more noticeable or longer-lasting results. Individual outcomes will vary.
What Does the Treatment Feel Like?
During the peel, you may feel mild tingling or warmth. The IPL stage is often described as feeling like a quick, warm flick against the skin.
Your comfort will be monitored throughout the appointment, and the treatment settings will be carefully selected following your consultation and patch test.
Is There Any Downtime?
The illumiFacial® is a non-invasive treatment with relatively little downtime for many clients. Your skin may appear slightly warm or red immediately afterwards, similar to a mild flush.
Pigmented areas can temporarily become darker before gradually fading. This is a normal response following some IPL treatments and should not be rubbed, picked or exfoliated.
Responses vary, and full aftercare instructions will be provided following your appointment.
How Should I Prepare?
Before treatment, you may be advised to:
Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning
Avoid fake tan on the treatment area
Use a suitable daily sunscreen
Pause certain active skincare products when instructed
Tell your practitioner about any medication or changes to your health
Avoid picking, waxing or irritating the skin
A consultation and patch test will be carried out before your first treatment. It is important to disclose all medication, skincare products and recent treatments so that your suitability can be assessed safely.
Aftercare
Following your illumiFacial®, treat your skin gently and follow the personalised advice provided by your practitioner.
You may be asked to avoid:
Hot baths, saunas and steam rooms
Strenuous exercise for a short period
Strong exfoliants, retinoids and active acids
Direct sun exposure
Picking or scratching the treated skin
Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is especially important following an IPL treatment.
